WeVideo is an online video editing and learning platform that works on any device. Fresno Pacific University transitioned from Vidgrid to WeVideo for video creation, editing, hosting, and interactive video learning. It includes professional editing tools, a library of over one million royalty-free media assets, real-time collaboration, and more — all designed to be intuitive and easy to learn.

All students have access to WeVideo on now via their university Single-Sign-On (SSO).

There are two ways to access WeVideo. First, you can find it inside Canvas — look for WeVideo in your course's Navigation menu. Second, you can go directly to wevideo.com/sign-in and log in with your university credentials Single-Sign-On (SSO). No separate account creation is needed. Just use the Office365 button.

No. WeVideo is entirely web-based and works in your browser. For the best experience, use Chrome on a laptop or desktop computer. WeVideo also has a mobile app if you want to record content on the go — anything you record on mobile will appear in your Uploads section.

Yes! WeVideo offers free mini-certifications that take about 2 hours each. The Student Level 1 and Student Level 2 certifications cover everything you need to create, edit, and collaborate on video projects. Visit wevideo.com/certifications to get started. Some programs may also include these as part of your coursework.

No. Vidgrid was fully retired June 30, 2026. We recommend starting to use WeVideo for new projects.

All active Vidgrid videos have been migrated to WeVideo. You should check your WeVideo 'Uploads' in Multimedia Creation to verify your videos are there. If anything is missing, you can download it from Vidgrid and upload it to WeVideo (while you still have access) — see instructions here.

A lot! You can create and edit videos with a multi-track editor, record from your webcam and/or screen, add text overlays and transitions, use green screen effects, mix audio, create podcasts and GIFs, and collaborate in real-time with classmates on group projects. WeVideo also includes over one million royalty-free stock videos, images, and audio clips you can use in your projects.

Yes. WeVideo supports real-time collaboration, so you and your classmates can edit the same video or podcast project from separate devices. Your instructor can set up collaborative assignments where group members all have access to the same project.

WeVideo works on any device. There is also a mobile app you can use to record video and audio on the go — your recordings will sync to your Uploads in WeVideo. For editing, a laptop or desktop with the Chrome browser will give you the best experience. If you're using an iPad, see the troubleshooting section below for recommended settings.

Interactive videos are videos with built-in elements like quiz questions, branching paths, and discussion prompts. Your instructors may assign you to watch interactive videos or, in some cases, create your own. You'll gain access to the interactive creation tools when an instructor assigns you to use them — they're not available by default, but you don't need to do anything special to access them when they're part of an assignment.

Try these steps in order:

Step	What To Do
Update your browser	Make sure Chrome or Firefox is on the latest version.
Clear cache & cookies	Clear your browser data, then reload WeVideo.
Disable extensions	Ad blockers and other extensions can interfere. Try disabling them.
Try incognito mode	Open an incognito/private window to rule out extension issues.
Switch browsers	If Chrome isn't working, try Firefox (or vice versa).
Use a computer	If you're on a tablet or phone, try a laptop or desktop instead.
Switch networks	Try a different Wi-Fi network and turn off any VPN.
Enable third-party cookies	Some browsers block these by default, which can prevent WeVideo from loading.

If you're accessing WeVideo or interactive assignments on an iPad, use Chrome (not Safari or the Canvas app) when possible, and adjust these settings:

Also make sure your iOS is up to date. Avoid using incognito/private mode for assignments, as this can prevent your work from being saved properly.

It can be, yes. If the interactive video uses an external source (like a YouTube or Vimeo video), you may need to click play once for the interactive player and then a second time for the embedded video. This is due to browser autoplay policies and isn't a bug. WeVideo has built-in logic to reduce this, but it depends on your browser and LMS setup.
